FURUNO PM-30 Performance Monitor works like and X-band transponder. Installed in the proximity of the radar antenna, FURUNO PM-30 is triggered by part of the transmitted microwave energy and sends back a coded signeal to the antenna for display on the radar screen.
Installation of the PM-30 Performance Monitor does not require any modification in the radar. If the radar is provided with a facility to remotely activate the performance monitor, like the FR-1200, FR-1600, FR-1500, FR-2000, FR-2100, FR-2800 series, the PM-30 can be connected direct to the radar display.
